Fluoride is more than a claim on a pack. It is an evidence-supported ingredient for preventing tooth decay when used at an appropriate level and paired with consistent brushing. The 1500 ppm stated on THAYA packaging therefore belongs in the context of a complete daily routine.

What ppm tells us

ppm means parts per million and expresses the fluoride concentration in toothpaste. The World Health Organization encourages twice-daily brushing with fluoride toothpaste containing 1000–1500 ppm.

The number does not mean that more is always better for everyone. Choose an age-appropriate product, use the recommended amount and take particular care to prevent young children from swallowing toothpaste.

How fluoride works with brushing

Tooth enamel faces acids produced from food and bacterial activity throughout the day. Fluoride supports remineralisation and helps enamel resist mineral loss, while thorough brushing is still needed to disrupt plaque.

Brush gently for around two minutes, twice a day, covering every surface. Follow the pack directions and clean between teeth regularly.

Read the label before building your routine

The supplied THAYA Violet Whitening & Herbal Mix Berry pack states 1500 ppm fluoride. Check the physical product each time because formulations and directions may change.

Ask a dental professional for personalised advice if you have a high decay risk, persistent sensitivity, mouth sores or questions about products for children.
